Igor Hernández has a degree in Biology (UPV / EHU) and in Food Science and Technology (UPV / EHU). Doctor in Biology (UPV / EHU)



He has worked as a researcher in different aspects of food technology, including enzyme applied to cheeses, expression of heterologous proteins in food bacteria, identification of bacterial toxicity genes, selection of enological yeasts or industrial microbiology, generation of models, sensory analysis, bioprocesses of fungal or metagenomic bases. He currently works within the Lactiker research group (UPV / EHU), although he has worked at Nizo Food Research (Holland), Guserbiot and the AZTI Foundation.





He is currently a full-time professor at the UPV / EHU within the Area of ​​Pharmacy and Food Sciences, where he teaches in the degree of Human Nutrition and Dietetics (course of Food Chemistry and biochemistry), degree in Food Science and Technology (vourses of Food, technology and culture and Enology) and the Master of Innovative Enology of the UPV / EHU . He has been co-director of two doctoral theses.
