Eduardo J. Alonso Olea born in Bilbao in 1962, graduated with a PhD in History & Geography in 1993 at UPV/EHU. He has been a researcher at the Contemporary History Department in UPV/EHU between 2011 and 2018 and today is a Professor at the same Department.



He has been a University Teacher at the Contemporary History Department at UPV/EHU.



His PhD dissertation was about the Basque Economic Agreement (El Concierto Económico Vasco) until the Civil War. From that project onwards, he has continued with the investigation and has also participated in different projects, conferences, courses, etc.



He has published a few monographs (28), articles and book chapters (145) about the history of the administration (History of the Regional Council of Biscay), business history (Santa Ana of Bolueta, in 1841-2016), Biscay Industrial Mutual Society, KUPSA) and a few biographies (from Victor Chávarri or Casilda de Iturrizar). He has participated in several investigation projects and contracts (MICIN-MINECO; Basque Government, Regional Council of Biscay, Bilbao’s Council, etc.).



He belongs to the consolidated Biography & Parliament Investigation Group, formed in 1989 and is recognised by the Basque Government in consecutive occassions since 2002, which over the years has focused on biographical investigations from the Parliament and members of the General Councils of the Basque Country.
