He holds a degree in Physics (1996), a degree in Electronics Engineering (2001), and a PhD in Physics (2000) from the UPV/EHU. He has been a Full Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Automation at the UPV/EHU since 2019.
He teaches in the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering, as well as in the Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence Applied to Industry and Computer-Aided Engineering, and in the Master's Degree in Control, Automation, and Robotics Engineering.
His research focuses on the real-time design and implementation of advanced control systems, where he has published numerous articles in high-impact JCR journals. He has been the Principal Investigator of the recognized UPV/EHU Research Group called the Advanced Control Group (GCA) since 2001 and the Coordinator of the Training and Research Unit Modeling, Simulation, and Control of Complex Systems since 2011.
