I have a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry (2012) and a Master's degree in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine (2013) from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). I carried out my doctoral thesis in the laboratory of Dr. Maier Lorizate Nogales (UPV/EHU), in which I studied the role of lipids in the HIV infective cycle, with special emphasis on the molecular mechanisms that regulate HIV infection, and their dependence on specific lipids.

During my postdoctoral period I worked in the laboratory of Dr. Xabier Contreras (Biofisika Institute, UPV/EHU-CSIC) on the development of lipid analogues to study lipid-protein interactions in pathological processes. During my research career I have participated in 9 national and international research projects, and I have contributed to a total of 12 publications, 4 of them in journals of the first decile (D1), with a total of 119 citations (H-index = 6) .

During the pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2, I participated as coordinator in a work group at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) that developed in a few weeks a PCR diagnosis protocol for SARS-CoV-2 to face a Possible stock out of clinical diagnostic kits. The protocol, validated by the Carlos III Health Institute, was used to test a cohort of more than 3,000 people during the pandemic.

Since November 2022, I have been an Assistant Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
