Short description of the course:

This course focuses on different aspects of multilingualism in education and will include psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic, and educational perspectives. Topics include: definitions and scope of multilingual education, the effect of bilingualism on the acquisition of additional languages, types of multilingual education, theoretical and research perspectives in the study of multilingual competence and evaluation of multilingual programmes in education.
