Joseba Iñaki Juaristi Oliden is Full Professor of Condensed Matter Physics. He obtained his PhD degree in Physics in 1996 in the UPV/EHU. From 1992 he is teaching in the Chemistry Faculty of Donostia different subjects in the Chemistry Bachelor's Degree, and from 2007 until its cancellation in 2024 he taught in the Master in Nanoscience. From 1999 he has been the Academic Secretary of the Materials Physics Department and from 2020 of the PMAS Department. He has been the Deputy Director of the CFM, mixed center of the CSIC (Spanish Research Council) and the UPV/EHU between 2011 and 2015 and between 2020 and 2024. From 2006 he is member of the scientific committee of the International Workshop in Inelastic Ions Surface Collisions (IISC). He was the chairman of the 21st edition of that conference celebrated in 2015. He was member of the academic commission of the Master in Nanoscience during its entire existence. He was member of the academic commision of the Doctoral Programme of Physics of Nanoestructures and Advanced Materials from 2009 to 2023. He is Divisional Associate Editor in the Division of Chemical Physics of Physical Review Letters.
His actual research line is devoted to the study of the dynamics of gas/surface interactions, paying special attention to nonadiabatic processes. He has published more than 140 articles in international journals and 5 book chapters. These works have been cited more than 3000 times (h=32 WOS, h=32 Scopus). He has supervised 6 PhD Thesis
