The world is facing a challenge due to teacher shortage. Reports show a downward trend in number of students who wish to become a teacher. In addition, the number of teachers who choose to leave their profession is rising. This, combined with a growing world population has considerable consequences.
The international conference “Recruiting Teachers: What Works?” (May 6-7, 2024) focuses on initiatives and actions taken that have resulted in a positive change and aims at answering, among others, the question What initiatives and measures taken have resulted in more qualified teachers?
One of the speakers is Dr. Jordan Naidoo, former Director for the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning. He will speak on the topic: “Solving the Teacher Shortage in the World: The Way Forward”.
