José Manuel León Ranero es investigador posdoctoral en el Departamento de Derecho Público y Ciencias Histórico-Jurídicas y del Pensamiento Político de la Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU) e investigador visitante en el Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Sociali del Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna (UniBo).

Doctor en Ciencia Política por la Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU) con la calificación de sobresaliente cum laude y Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado. Másteres en Gobierno, Liderazgo y Gestión Pública por el Instituto Atlántico de Gobierno (IADG) y en Democracia y Gobierno por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Premio Extraordinario de Fin de Carrera y Mención de Graduado con Excelencia en el Grado en Ciencia Política y Gestión Pública por la Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU).

Profesor y colaborador en tareas docentes. Ha impartido clases en diversas asignaturas del Grado en Ciencia Política y Gestión Pública de la Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU) entre los cursos académicos 2019-2020 y 2022-2023: 'Análisis Político y Prospectiva Electoral' (3.º de grado), 'Comportamiento político' (2.º de grado) y 'Análisis y Gestión Estadística de Datos I' (2.º de grado). Ha sido invitado a impartir sesiones de la asignatura 'Metodología de la investigación social y su aplicación al estudio del terrorismo' del Máster en Análisis y Prevención del Terrorismo de la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC).

Autor o coautor de treinta y un trabajos académicos en el ámbito de la ciencia política: una tesis doctoral, un libro, ocho capítulos de libro, doce artículos científicos, seis comunicaciones en congresos científicos, dos tesis de máster y una tesis de grado. Sus trabajos se han publicado en editoriales de prestigio como Tecnos y CIS y en revistas científicas como Revista de Estudios Políticos, Revista Española de Ciencia Política, Papers, Migraciones y Revista de Investigaciones Políticas y Sociológicas, entre otras.

Fundador de la Asociación Universitaria para el Análisis Socio-político Ágora XXI.

José Manuel León Ranero is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Public Law, Historical-Legal Sciences and Political Thought at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), and a visiting researcher in the Department of Political and Social Sciences at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna (UniBo).

He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), awarded sobresaliente cum laude, as well as the Extraordinary Doctorate Award. He also holds Master’s degrees in Government, Leadership and Public Management from the Atlantic Institute of Government (IADG) and in Democracy and Government from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). He received the Extraordinary Degree Award and the Graduate with Excellence Distinction for his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Management from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).

He has taught and contributed to teaching activities at university level. Between the 2019–2020 and 2022–2023 academic years, he taught several modules on the Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Management at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU): ‘Political Analysis and Electoral Foresight’ (third year), ‘Political Behaviour’ (second year), and ‘Statistical Data Analysis and Management I’ (second year). He has also been invited to teach sessions on the module ‘Social Research Methodology and its Application to the Study of Terrorism’ as part of the Master’s Degree in Analysis and Prevention of Terrorism at Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC).

Author or co-author of thirty-one academic works in the field of political science: a doctoral thesis, a book, eight book chapters, twelve academic articles, six conference papers, two master’s theses and one undergraduate dissertation. His work has been published by prestigious publishers such as Tecnos and CIS, and in academic journals including Revista de Estudios Políticos, Revista Española de Ciencia Política, Papers, Migraciones and Revista de Investigaciones Políticas y Sociológicas, amongst others.

He is the founder of the Ágora XXI University Association for Socio-Political Analysis.
