Jose Antonio Carrero, obtained his PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry in 2011 and then spent 10 years as a post-doctoral researcher in the analytical chemistry department. Nowadays, he is associate professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry of the UPV/EHU and member of the IBeA research group, recognized as consolidated research group (Basque Government). His main research areas include i) development and optimization of analytical methods, ii) monitoring of environmental impact on elements of natural and cultural heritage, iii) chemical analysis of food for quality control, traceability of geographical origin and fraud detection, iv) application of chemometrics to the analysis of environmental data, v) speciation of Selenium and Mercury in tuna. I have participated in more than 30 multidisciplinary competitive projects related to environmental analytical chemistry, cultural heritage and food safety. I have more than 30 scientific publications, most of them in high impact index journals (Q1), 4 book chapters and around 40 contributions to international conferences.
