At the present:

Doctor in Psychology by the University of the Basque Country. He has been a full professor in the Department of Evolutionary Psychology and Education at the UPV/EHU until his retirement in 2017. He has held the position of Director of the Department for 8 years (2005/2012).

The lines of research have had to do with professional guidance and counselling, professional development of teachers, and cooperative learning methodology. Currently his interest is focused on mentoring as a professional development strategy in organizations, and more specifically in higher education.

He has participated in 20 international, national and regional research projects in competitive calls. He has directed and/or co-directed 15 doctoral theses. He has published 87 articles in indexed scientific journals (JCR, SCOPUS, ERICH, PSICODOC ...), 26 book chapters and 7 books. He has also presented research results in numerous international congresses as guest lecturer and speaker in various forums. He has also been guest lecturer at different Spanish and Latin American universities in relation to the professional development of university teaching staff.

According to Google Academician the number of citations is 2646, and 1340 from 2014 to the present time. The total h-index is 14 (12 since 2014) and the ¡10 index is 16 (13 since 2014).
