Bachelor of Basque Philology and doctor from the UPV/EHU. His thesis dealt with linguistic attitudes towards bilingualism and Basque (2012). In the UPV/EHU he has been a lecturer in the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Anthropology, and nowadays he works in the Department of Basque Language and Communication. Along with the academic field, he has developed a long career as a translator.



In his research role he has worked mainly in the following research areas: multilingualism and education, linguistic attitudes and linguistic landscape. As a member of the research group DREAM (Donostia Research in Education and Multilingualism) he has participated in various projects and in international publications and congresses. He is currently part of the Gaztesare research group, analyzing the linguistic practices of young Basque people in social networks.
