Lore Bilbao Artetxe (b. Dima, 1965) holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering majoring in Industrial Organisation from the ETS (Faculty of Engineering) in Bilbao (1990), a Diploma in Advanced Business Organisation also from the ETS in Bilbao (1990-1992) and an MBA in Business Management from Instituto de Economía Aplicada a la Empresa [Institute of Applied Business Economics] (2000/2001). She has also taken various people management courses (Working Group Management Skills, Leadership Training Course, Basic Training in Team Leadership and Teamwork and a postgraduate course focusing on people management at higher education institutions). She has been working as a technical specialist at the UPV/EHU since 1990, initially in the Basque language area and later in Personnel: Section Head for Teaching & Research Staff, Head of the Planning, Studies and Training Office, Head of the Personnel Management Unit, Head of the Teaching & Research Staff Unit, head of the Admin & Service Staff Unit. She has also held posts in public administration: Director of Services at the Basque Government Department of Culture from 2001 to 2008 and Head of the Personnel Management Department at the Provincial Institute for Social Care of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia from 2008 to 2009. From April 2009 to 9 January 2013 she was Deputy Manager of the Bizkaia Campus. She was then appointed Manager of the UPV/EHU.
