Before your Mobility

Verify that there is an interinstitutional agreement

If you are thinking of participating in an exchange programme with Bilbao School of Engineering (Erasmus, Double Degrees, USA, Asia, Latin America), you should first check that there is an agreement between your university and our School and contact your Coordinator at your home university to start the process.

Nomination and Registration

In order to carry out an academic exchange at our school it is very important that the following steps are followed in accordance with the dates indicated:

Step 1. Nomination
We send our partner universities an email with the link to the nomination form. There are two nomination periods:

  •     from 15 September to 31 October (second semester/spring semester)

Step 2. Online application
We contact the nominated students and provide them with the necessary information to complete their online application by:

In order to complete the online application, you will receive in your email an invitation to access an online form where you will have to register and you will have to fill in all your details, as well as those of your university and coordinator. If you want to do your Bachelor's Thesis / Master's Thesis here, you must also send us your CV and a motivation letter, and we will find a tutor for you. Once you have been assigned a tutor, you should contact him/her so that he/she can tell you the steps to follow.

Buddy Programme

The aim of this programme is to help visiting students to integrate into our school and our culture. To this end, student volunteers welcome exchange students, accompany them to the welcome meeting and explain how the school works (timetables, publications, cafeteria, associations, etc.) so that their stay is as easy as possible from the start.

After receiving your mobility acceptance message, your buddy will contact you to know the details of your trip to Bilbao and to welcome you on your arrival. If for any reason you do not receive any communication from your buddy, please send a message to incoming.eib@ehu.eus
