Research Group

PROCAT-VARES research group works on the proposal, progress and innovation of processes of energy and environmental interest. The aim is to develop, at an international leading level, lines of research in Chemical Reaction Engineering that are up-to-date and focused on sustainable development. The development of this activity involves the training of researchers and technologists, the transmission of knowledge to the international scientific-technological community in the form of publications and collaboration with the industrial sector, on issues that combine academic, technological, social and industrial interest.

We have approached the thermal splitting of pistachio nuts in conical spouted bed, attaining up to 60% of split pistachios and preserving their quality. Results have been recently published in Food and Bioprocess Technology: https://doi.org/10.1007/s11947-024-03373-5
