She has also taken part in more than twenty competitive research projects at European, national and regional level.

Her research focuses on digital innovation in the media, transformations in journalism and communication in technological environments, and, more recently, on areas such as digital activism and gender-aware communication. She has produced more than two hundred scholarly contributions in journalism and communication, including books, book chapters, articles in journals indexed in JCR-SSCI and Scopus, outreach publications, conference papers, invited talks and teaching materials. She has served on numerous scientific committees and has experience in organising international academic events.
