Summary:

This PhD thesis attempts to analyze the integration process of telephone networks in Spain in the Spanish National Telephone Company (CTNE).
This is a historical study of a specific telecommunications system. The legislation that has existed in Spain since the emergence of the first telephones has been analyzed, in addition to the different political and social trends in which that legislation was drafted. This is then followed by the development of different telephone networks until the formation of the Spanish National Telephone Company (CTNE). Following the creation of CTNE and its awarding of the Contract with the State, a study of the different phases of its development then becomes unavoidable.
By way of a gateway to this research, it is both appropriate and necessary to situate the major milestones set out by telecommunications within a historical context. This involves taking a look at contributions made by other scholars in this field.
Lastly, as important as all the points listed above are, it is also important to report each step taken and list the sources of information that have provided the inspiration for this work.
