Graduated in Agricultural Engineering (UPNA, 1998) and Food Sciences (UPV/EHU, 2001), and PhD in Animal Production & Quality of Animal Products (UPV/EHU, 2006). Extensive national and international experience as graduated (Teagasc, Ireland, 2001), PhD student (SERIDA, Asturias, 2002/06; Teagasc, Ireland, 2001&2003) and postdoctoral researcher (Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada, Canada, 2006/09; Queensland Government, Australia, 2010; CSIC, León, 2010/11). As a posdoc fellow I was funded by the Basque Government (2006/08) and EU Marie Curie OIF (2008/11) programs, and I expanded my knowledge in the field of ‘lipids of animal origin’. As a Ramón y Cajal researcher I joined the Lactiker research group (Quality&Safety of Animal Foods) at UPV/EHU (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 2012), where I also participate in teaching activities as a professor of the Master and Doctorate Program (Quality&Safety of Foods) and supervising Graduate, Master and PhD students. I am part of the 'Lipids in Animal Science' division of the European Federation for the Science and Technology of Lipids (2012) and the Editorial Board of ‘European Journal of Lipid Science and Technology’ (2015). Permanent researcher at UPV/EHU since 2017.
Co-authored >70 scientific articles in SCI journals (h=23), participated in 28 national/international projects (leading 5 of them), participated in >100 national/international scientific forums, and co-supervised 2 International PhD Thesis (another 4 ongoing).
