The Higher Technical School of Bilbao, when approving this offer, committed itself to providing the classrooms, resources and facilities necessary for conducting the teaching and learning of this doctoral program, including the classrooms, projectors, computer rooms with internet connection, study rooms, etc.
To carry out the activities related to the development of advanced catalytic hydrotreatment processes, decentralized hydrogen production, manufacturing and converting of biofuels, hydrometallurgy and recycling of polymer materials/waste by heat treatment, there is the HIGHER TECHNICAL SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING OF BILBAO (DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING AND THE ENVIRONMENT), with 3 general teaching laboratories for Chemical Engineering and the following four research laboratories:- Laboratory for catalytic activity tests- Heat treatment laboratory (pyrolysis, gasification)- Instrumental analysis laboratory- Sample preparation laboratoryTo carry out the activities related to training and research into materials at the EUITI OF BILBAO (DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING AND THE ENVIRONMENT) there are the following laboratories, workshops and experimental spaces:- Group of Interphases, Plastic Materials and Composites (EUITI of Bilbao)- Laboratory 03 B4: Laboratory with 80 places - Laboratory 03 B4.1: Research laboratory with independent rooms - Laboratory 03 B6 approx. surface area 100 m2 - Other laboratory 01 (1st floor)- Other laboratory 05 (5th floor)- Seminar room. Different shared-use roomsTo carry out the activities related to training and research into materials at the Higher School of Engineering of Bilbao (DEPARTMENT OF MINING AND METALLURGICAL ENGINEERING AND MATERIAL SCIENCES) there are the following laboratories, workshops and experimental spaces:- Room P2BN22. Polymer characterization laboratory- P2BN23. Metallography laboratory - P2BN24. Microscopy Room 1 - P2BN25. Microscopy Room 2 - P2BN26. Chemical laboratory. Synthesis and modification of polymers- PSBN35. Room for the processing and manufacture of materials. Thermoplastic transformation equipment- PSBN36. Clean room for transformation of materials. Room with controlled humidity and temperature- PSBN 37. Mechanical testing workshopFor the realization of activities related to photonic materials, the DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED PHYSICS has 2 teaching laboratories and 6 research laboratories at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Bilbao.
The Libraries of the University of the Basque Country, including those of the centres of the professors involved in this doctoral program, provide their physical spaces and, by means of on-line access to bibliographical resources, the support necessary for the realization of this doctoral program.
