Dr. Christian Scharff and Dr. Andreas Hilger (both University of Regensburg, Germany) were guests at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of the Basque Country in San Sebastián from 05.05. to 08.05.25.

Scharff and Hilger gave several lectures for different classes of Bachelor students, in which decisions about artificial intelligence and their effects were addressed. Particularly, the lectures focused on organizational decision-making about the official use of AI and on the contrasting perspective of individual unsanctioned AI usage in organizations. Students were then tasked with the transfer of those insights to decision making concerning Artificial Intelligence in academia, particularly discuss AI in academic writing. Students were particularly encouraged to share their experiences and doubts concerning AI in academic writing, while Dr. Scharff and Dr. Hilger provided actionable insights, best practices and risks.

Alongside their lectures, Dr. Hilger and Dr. Scharff had an exciting in-depth exchange with the Faculty of Economics and Business, particularly Gurutze Intxaurburu.
