Acronym: PLAST4H2
Grant Agreement no: EAPA_0018/2022
Project objective: PLAST4H2 aims to establish an excellent transnational network to foster the fight against pollution caused by the indiscriminate littering of plastics in the Atlantic area, followed by the valorization of these into high-value-added products like hydrogen. Thus, circularity and sustainability principles are the core of the proposal, appealing and linking to the thematic priority number 2 of the Interreg Atlantic Area 2021-2027 programme Blue and green environment (Greener Europe).

Project Summary:
PLAST4H2 aims to fight plastic pollution in the Atlantic Area through CIRCULARITY AND SUSTAINABILITY, converting PLASTIC WASTE into high-value-added products such as HYDROGEN and encouraging lifestyle changes. The project brings together a transnational network, covering the quadruple helix approach. Thus, WP1 assesses ocean pollution, developing DETECTION TOOLS, LITTER FLOW PATTERNS MODELS, and implements an advanced PLASTIC COLLECTION system with a PILOT BOAT. WP2 demonstrates INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS for plastic conversion into H2, energy, and ecoplastics. WP3 evaluates the SUSTAINABILITY of converting plastics into valuable products and raises awareness among society. Demonstrating their solutions via FOUR PILOT PROTOTYPES will reach thousands of people. PLAST4H2's technologies will be available to stakeholders and policymakers, promoting the adoption of green practices in the Atlantic region. PLAST4H2 is committed to protecting our oceans and advancing a sustainable future for all.
This project is co-financed by the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme through the European Regional Development Fund.
