Biography
Graduated in Chemistry she obtained her PhD in 2004 at the University of the Basque Country. She is Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering in the Engineering Faculty of Gipuzkoa and Senior Researcher of the 'Materials + Technologies' Research Group (GMT), recognized as a Consolidated Research Group (IT1690-22) of the Basque University System.
Research
Her research activity is focused on the development of new materials through the synthesis, modification and/or crosslinking of polymers, kinetics and rheological study, as well as their mechanical characterization. In recent years, he has focused more on hydrogels and nanogels with stimuli-responsive capacity, based on natural polymers and following the fundamentals of green chemistry, mainly for drug delivery applications. Her current research focuses on the development of dynamic covalent bonded hydrogels and nanogels, polymeric nanofibres and interpenetrating networks, as well as the development of inks and bioinks for 3D printing.
