Bachelor of Laws from the University of Deusto (third in his promotion and first in Basque) and Master's Degree in Law from the same University and the Illustrious Bar Association of Biscay, he is currently FPI Researcher at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU in the Chair in Law and the Human Genome R.G. (Group A 1066-IT qualified as Excellent by the Basque Government), where he is carrying out his doctoral thesis on new eugenics and the protection of fundamental rights as a limit to the new reprogenetic techniques within the framework of the Programme Human Rights, Public Powers, European Union: Public and Private Law, under the direction of Full Professor of Criminal Law UPV/EHU C. M. Romeo Casabona and Senior Lecturer of Constitutional Law UD Aitziber Emaldi Cirión. He is Professor of Criminal Law at the Degree in Law (UPV/EHU). His lines of research focus on the fields of biolaw, bioethics, gene editing, eugenics and human enhancement, on which he has written numerous scientific papers and presented several oral communications in national and international congresses. In addition, he is a member of the Editorial Committee of the Law and the Human Genome Review. Genetics, Biotechnology and Advanced Medicine (indexed, among others, in Scopus) and Reviewer of the Iberoamerican Journal of Bioethics.
