Doctor in Geography and History from the UPV / EHU (1993). Full Professor at the Faculty of Letters. Since 1995 she teaches in the University Studies Abroad Consortium Program, within the collaboration agreement established between the UPV / EHU and the University of Nevada. Also add participation in the Interuniversity Master of Contemporary History in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018.

Since 1990 she has developed his research activity in the Department of Contemporary History (UPV / EHU), in the research group led by Professor J. Agirreazkuenaga, as well as in the one directed by Professor M. González Portilla, research groups A of the University System Basque. Her research activity has been focused as main lines in Elites and biographies and Urban History.

At present, she is part of the Research Group on Historical Demography and Urban History, research group A of the Basque University System. She has participated in dozens of research projects endowed with public and private funds, and has also collaborated in research and dissemination work mainly with the Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao and the Ría de Bilbao Maritime Museum. The research activity has provided three six-year terms until the actulity. Positive evaluations of Complements to the Research of the Faculty, UPV / EHU: C1, C2, B1, B2.

Positions: member of the UPV / EHU Editorial Service Council since 2015, member of the Academic Committee of the HC Doctorate Program since 2016 and Secretary of the HC Department (2018).
