My main line of research focuses on studying risks and adaptation to climate change, in contexts of uncertainty. In my work, I have mainly studied coastal zones, both at local (urban) and regional scales, as well as the socio-economic implications of climate change impacts and adaptation policies.

I have worked for more than 11 years at BC3, Basque Centre for Climate Change, where I did my PhD on the environmental and economic impacts of sea level rise on the Basque coast (2016). From 2017 to 2019 I was, thanks to a postdoctoral fellowship from the Basque Government, a visiting researcher at the Grantham Research Institute (London School of Economics). I have participated in several national and international research projects (e.g. COACCH, Econadapt, Governadapt).
