Introducción al Derecho aplicable a los negocios jurídicos de contenido patrimonial, sobre todo, Ordenamiento jurídico español y el de la Unión Europea.

The subject deals with the legal aspects and consequences of economic and business activities. It includes a brief and practical description of the basic legal institutions, and a more detailed analysis of the most important instruments and remedies to enforce rights and obligations in the market.

Lecture 6: Legal Remedies or Instruments in Business Activities: Contracts and Obligations



1º. Introduction to Legal Instruments. -1.Obligations. -2. Sources of obligations.

2º. The Contract. -1. Essential contractual elements in business activities. -2. Binding contracts. -3. Breach of contract. 4. -Voidable contracts .

3º . Particular arrangements for modern business contracts.

Attendance of lectures is not required. However, it is highly recommended for measuring the satisfactory progress in the work of the course, and it is compulsory for the option of the continuous assessment.

• Tools and qualification percentages:
  • Written test to be taken (%): 70
  • Realization of Practical Work (exercises, cases or problems) (%): 10
  • Individual works (%): 5
  • Exhibition of works, readings ... (%): 15

• There will be three different formats: theory, case studies and seminars.



• The formats will be assessed with either a final exam ONLY, OR a final exam and continuous assessment.



• The final exam will take place at the end of the term, on the 13th January or 27th Juny.



The grading will be different, as well, for each format.

1.- EXAM: It is ESENTIAL TO PASS THE EXAM IN ORDER TO PASS THE SUBJECT

The exam to assess the theory on the subject will take the form of multiple choice.



2.- SEMINARS

The seminars will be assessed grading the students work and assignments (continuous assessment) or, alternatively grading the exam.

La calificación obtenida de los seminarios en el sistema de evaluación continua se mantiene para la convocatoria extraordinaria del mismo año académico en el que se obtuvo dicha calificación. No se mantendrá para años académicos posteriores.

La prueba final para los que no fueron calificados en el sistema de evaluación continua comprenderá el 100% de la nota de la asignatura.
