Graduated in Chemical Engineering with specialization in environment by the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao (UPV/EHU) in 2010, master in Engineering of Renewable Materials (UPV/EHU) in 2012, also obtaining the award for the best student of the master, and doctor by the UPV/ HU in 2014. He is member of the BioRP research group (Biorefinery Processes Research Group) and since 2018 he has worked as assistant professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao.
He made a stay at the University of Lorraine (France) in 2014 and actively collaborates with Imperial College London (United Kingdom). He has participated in 9 regional or national research projects. On the other hand, he has directed 4 final master projects within the master's degree in engineering of renewable materials of the Faculty of Engineering of Gipuzkoa (UPV/EHU).
His research is focused on the valorization and integral use of lignocellulosic biomass. He is the author or co-author of 23 scientific articles in international journals, 7 book chapters and 1 international patent. He has participated in 51 international conferences of which 19 have been oral presentations . It is also a regular reviewer of several scientific journals such as Bioresource Technology, Industrial Crops and Products, Green Chemistry, etc.
