Permanent Research Doctor at the Department of Organic Chemistry I. She graduated (1989) and obtained her PhD in Chemistry (1994) from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. After two postdoctoral stays at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States, she joined the Faculty of Chemistry in San Sebastián in 1999. In 2001, she received a Ramón y Cajal contract and obtained a permanent position in 2012. Her teaching activity covers several subjects in the Chemistry degree (Organic Chemistry II, Basic Laboratory Operations) and in the Interuniversity Master's in Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry (Bio-organic and Supramolecular Chemistry). She has co-supervised 7 doctoral theses, 8 Master's final projects, and has 5 six-year research periods recognized by the CNEAI. She is a member of the research group "Sustainable Catalysis Group: Methods and Computation" and her research activity mainly focuses on the development of stereoselective transformations catalyzed by metals, organic molecules, and enzymes for their application in solving synthetic problems.
