Associate professor

PhD Chemistry (UPV/EHU)
Faculty of Science & Technology

Bachelor’s in Chemistry (2007) and PhD Europeus Cum Laude (2011) by the UPV/EHU. She is currently working as associate professor at the Analytical Chemistry department from the Faculty of Science and Technology from UPV/EHU.

Her research activity is focused in the monitoring, characterization and diagnostic of the environmental impact over different environmental compartments such as water, soil and sediments. Her work has been mainly focused in aquatic environments like rivers, lakes, estuaries and coast areas. For the analysis of samples, she has used traditional analytical techniques (extraction, separation techniques and quantification), spectroscopic information (vibrational and elemmental) and chemometric models.

She has done two stays. The first stay was carried out at the University of Valencia (2008) where she worked in the optimization of analytical methods based of chemometric techniques combined with vibrational spectroscopy. The second stay (2009) was carried out at the Department of Quality, Technology and Food Chemistry from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) where she studied the application of 2D and 3D multivariant approaches for environmental analysis.

She has published more than 30 papers in high-impact journals and 4 book chapters. She has also presented 40 communications to conferences and has participated in 15 research projects. She has also reviewed articles for several high-impact journals in the fields of analytical chemistry and environmental analysis.
