GORKA MORENO MÁRQUEZ
Full Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Work of the University of the Basque Country. Collaborator of Ikuspegi - Basque Immigration Observatory, of which she was Director from 2011 to 2020. Member of the consolidated research group Partehartuz. Currently a member of the Begirune Foundation, which works on research and policy advice on migration.
Degree in Political Science and Administration and PhD in Sociology (Excellent Cum Laude).
His teaching has focused on subjects related to social policies and exclusion and, above all, international migration. He also teaches in official masters, linked to social participation, aging, labor relations, globalization or international cooperation, both at the University of the Basque Country and in other national and Latin American universities. From 2021 to 2025 he has been Vice-Rector of the Bizkaia Campus of the UPV/EHU.
His research areas largely coincide with teaching and he has published several scientific articles -JCR and Scopus- and informative publications in the area of international migration. He has also participated in more than 60 research projects and contracts, most of them as Principal Investigator.
He participates assiduously in international and national congresses related to the aforementioned topics, as well as in international research networks.
