Teaching profile

I began my University teaching in 1995. During this time, I have participated in teaching the subjects of Genetics (compulsory) and Cytogenetics and Human Genetics (optional) in the Degree of Medicine, at the School of Medicine and Dentistry.Currently, I am a lecturer at the School of Science and Technology and teach the subjects ofGenetics in the Degree of Biology, and Genomics in the Degrees of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

Regarding post-graduate teaching, I am one of the lecturers in the courses Fundamentals of Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics and Proteomikaren Oinarriak. These courses are part of the Master in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine.

In addition, I supervise graduate student projects in the Degree of Biology and the Degree of Biochemistry. I also supervise master student projects within the Master in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine.

Research profile

I earned my PhD in 1999 at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/ EHU) with a study on the "Genetic characterization of potato cyst nematode."
After my PhD, my work has been linked to the researchline led by Dr. Ana Zubiaga. In addition, I have participated in other research lines related to the analysis ofgenotoxicity .
In recent years, two research fields have been the focus of my interest:
1. "The Retinoblastoma/E2F pathway in regulating the cell cycle", led by Professor Ana Zubiaga.
2 . "Development of proteomics technology and its application to the Human Proteome Project", led by Professor Jesús María Arizmendi.
