Presentation
Amaia Ayala García, PhD in Biomedicine (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, 2023). Her thesis, Work trajectories after a sickness absence due to cancer in Catalonia, examines the impact of cancer on work trajectories after recovery from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives. She is interested in a variety of topics in the field of occupational health, but especially those related to vulnerable populations, such as those affected by the climate crisis, child penalty, gender inequalities and job insecurity. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the OPIK research group at the University of the Basque Country (EHU), where she studies the inequalities in access to healthcare that arise as a result of the increasing digitalization of the healthcare system.
