GENERAL X-RAY SERVICE OF THE UPV/EHU: ROCKS AND MINERALS

The General X-Ray Service of the University of the Basque Country/EHU aims to support basic and applied research, among others, to the different areas of knowledge of Geological, Chemical, Physical, Materials Sciences, Aeronautics, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Archeology, Paleontology, Anthropology, Environmental Sciences. In addition to contributing to provide service in the fields of Construction, Mining Prospecting, Civil Engineering, etc. It can also be accessed by researchers from the Basque Science and Technology Network, other researchers external to the UPV/EHU, other Public and Private Institutions, at all national and international levels.

Rock and Minerals Analysis Unit: Includes the mineralogical and geochemical analysis of rocks, minerals, and related materials. It has equipment for sample preparation and material analysis using X-ray diffraction (mineralogical analysis), X-ray fluorescence (chemical analysis), specific analysis of clay mineralogy, petrographic studies, etc.
