Dr. Seoane-Rivero earned his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2011 from the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), followed by a Master’s degree in New Materials at the same institution in 2012. In 2016, he defended his doctoral dissertation, Photoreactive and Self-Healing Polyurethane Coatings Based on Coumarin, within the Doctoral Program in Materials Science and Technology at UPV/EHU. In 2020, Dr. Seoane-Rivero complemented his scientific background with an Executive MBA in Business Administration and Management at UPV/EHU, where he received distinction for the best Master’s thesis in recognition of the strategic plan he developed.

He has held both academic and industrial research positions. At the GAIKER Technology Centre, he worked in the Department of Composites and Sustainable Functional Polymers before joining the University of the Basque Country. From January 2020 to August 2024, he served as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Gipuzkoa. He currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Bilbao School of Engineering. Over the course of his career, Dr. Seoane-Rivero has accumulated more than 14 years of experience in the transformation and functionalization of polymeric and composite materials. His research has resulted in 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications, 14 conference contributions, and 3 patents.
