She was awarded the Extraordinary Doctoral Award (2024) for her dissertation ¡Tiranos, temblad! Ejército y milicias de Montevideo en la crisis del Imperio (1750–1811). She was a postdoctoral researcher funded by the Gerda Henkel Stiftung, and is Executive Editor of the journal Illes i Imperis (Q2).

Her work focuses on the political, military, and institutional history of the Ibero-American world from the late eighteenth to the early nineteenth century, with particular emphasis on the crisis of the Iberian monarchies, the evolution of imperial political cultures, territorial reconfigurations, revolutionary upheavals, and the processes of independence.

Her research has addressed topics such as the implementation of the Bourbon Reforms, armed conflicts along the Spanish-Portuguese frontier, the organization of armies and militias in America, the Río de la Plata revolutions, and the relationship between the Spanish American wars of independence and the Luso-Brazilian world. She is currently working on a research project on Luso-Brazilian political and military interventions in the Río de la Plata during the 1810s and 1820s. Adopting a comparative and transimperial perspective, the project seeks to understand the responses of Portugal and Brazil to the crisis of the Iberian world and the interactions between these two political processes.
