Alexander Gallarreta undertook a two-month research stay at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) within the GCEM (Grup de Compatibilitat Electromagnètica, Electromagnetic Compatibility Group) research team. It took place from 2 June to 1 August 2025.
Jon Montalbán stayed on a research stay at the Western University, in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
He was supervised by Professor Xianbin Wang.
The research stay covered the period 26th June 2024-26th August 2024.
Igor Fernández estuvo de estancia como profesor invitado en la Universitá degli Studi di Genova (Universidad de Génova), en el Departamento de Ingeniería Eléctrica, Electrónica y de Telecomunicaciones y Arquitectura Naval.
Su supervisor fue el profesor Andrea Mariscotti.

Amaia Arrinda visitó el grupo de investigación Performance Engineering Lab in la Escuela de Ingeniería Electrónica en la universidad Dublin City University (DCU), bajo la dirección del Profesor Gabriel-Miro Muntean.
Durante su estancia Amaia aprendió de investigadores de diferentes procedencias incluyendo: Irlanda, Rumanía, Brasil, Francia, India, Paquistán e Irán, técnicas y fundamentos de simulación y desarrollo de soluciones basadas en el rendimiento en el área de las comunicaciones de las redes inteligentes (Smart Grids).
La estancia de investigación se desarrolló durante el periodo: 30 de agosto-29 de noviembre de 2024.
Iñigo Bilbao hizo una estancia como investigador predoctoral, enmarcada en el desarrollo de su tesis dotoral en la Universidad de Oulu (University of Oulu), desde el 15 de mayo hasta el 15 de agosto de 2023, bajo la supervisión del Profesor Markku Juntti.
Durante su estancia en esta universidad, Iñigo trabajó en sistemas AI-based Physical Layer Security (PLS).

Jon González stayed a predoctoral researcher at University of Applied Sciences (FH Technikum Wien) in Vienna (Austria) from 13th February to 12th June 2023.
During this period of time his research activities focused on the characterisation of the impedance variations and emissions generated by the charging processes of electric vehicles (EVs) in a controlled low-voltage network at the FH Technikum Wien. Furthermore, the influence of these two aspects on Narrowband Power Line Communications (NB PLC) was analysed.

Alexander Gallarreta stayed as a predoctoral researcher at National Physics Laboratory (NPL), the National Metrology Institute (NMI) of the United Kingdom from 1st March to 30th June 2023, under the supervision of Ph.D. Stefano Lodetti.
During the research secondment at NPL, Alexander Gallarreta worked on defining measurement methods for the characterization of impulsive disturbances, extending existing techniques up to 500 kHz, and evaluating alternative methods to CISPR 16 for the distribution grid.

During this period of time her research activities focused on the study of location and tracking of indoor radio users based on their radio-wave signals. The particular technology investigated was an Ultra Wide Band real-time positioning system, in conjunction with Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) position estimation. The work involved developing theoretical models and comparing the outcome to observed results using a deployed system.

During this period of time he worked on the study of Next Generation Digital TV in-band backhaul systems by using full duplex transmissions with LDM. Besides that, he also took part in field tests, where DTV field strength and loopback signal were measured.

Jon Barrueco made an international predoctoral stay starting on 28th August 2016 in Brest (France).
He developed a low complexity demapper based on condensation and adaptive sub-region (SCASR) selection for two-dimensional non-uniform constellation (2D-NUC). Besides, a new set of NUCs based on demapping restrictions have been designed providing low demapping complexity with negligible system performance losses.
