Nowadays many wheelchair users need to use oxygen and therefore they need to carry cylinders in their wheelchairs. Some state-of-the-art wheelchair devices used for holding and transporting oxygen cylinders have several disadvantages, such as slow and complex assembly and dismantling, which have to be carried out by maintenance personnel; installation interferes or even invalidates the useof anti-tip wheels in wheelchairs which are required to ensure patient’s safety and prevent tipping due to the cylinder’s weight causing instability, among others. This invention refers to a holding device for medical use oxygen cylinders in wheelchairs which comprises an anchoring system which is fixed to the chair framework and a support used to partially accommodate the cylinder. The support can be installed and removed according to the user’s needs and the anchoring body can be fixed to any type of framework.

Advantages:

•Straight-forward system
•Quick installation and removal
•Compatible with anti-tip wheels
•Easy to use and safe for the patient
