Ion Arrieta Valero has a degree in Philosophy (UPV/EHU, 2009, Award for the best academic record), a master's degree in Philosophy, Science and Values (UPV/EHU and UNAM, 2010) and a PhD in Philosophy (UPV/EHU and UNAM, 2016, with outstanding qualification and Cum Laude mention). He has done two research stays at Erasmus MC University Medical Center (Rotterdam) and CWRU Western Reserve University (Cleveland), and he has collaborated with several groups and research projects. Currently, he belongs to the AKTIBA-IT (prAKTikak, Ikasketa eta BAlioak Ikerketa Taldea) research group. He has presented his work and he has collaborated in the organization of various congresses. Among scientific articles, book chapters and reviews he currently has a total of 17 publications. From 2013 to the present he teachs at the University of the Basque Country in several subjects. Because of his teaching and research activities, his interests move between Ethics and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Medicine and Bioethics (and more specifically Clinical Ethics or Healthcare Ethics). He is currently the coordinator of the Degree in Philosophy at the UPV/EHU.
