Material resources

The departments of the UPV/EHU proposing the doctoral program have two seminar rooms and two laboratories in the building of the Faculty of Philosophy and Experimental Sciences for groups of between 10 to 20 students set aside for the program activities, seminars and workshops. Both are equipped with computer equipment adapted to the requirements of the doctoral teaching (computers, overhead projector, etc.). In addition, the building of the Faculty of Philosophy and Experimental Sciences of the UPV/EHU has a total of 988 places for teaching, distributed between classrooms with different capacities, suitable for the various activities. The Faculty also has three computer classrooms, one designed specifically for teaching, with a sufficient number of computers. The two consolidated research groups of the FCV/FZB program (PRAXIS and IAS) also have spaces in the Carlos Santamaría Centre (located 50 metres from the Faculty of Philosophy and Experimental Sciences) and the Central Library of the Gipuzkoa Campus of the UPV/EHU. The three spaces allow the conducting of seminars and teaching in groups of up to 25 people. The doctoral students can also work in them, especially full-time ones assigned to the above-mentioned groups and doctoral students from other universities participating in the Program. The Carlos Santamaría Centre also has a total of six rooms for seminars, workshops, etc. The distribution of spaces in the Carlos Santamaría Centre can be found at: http://www.gipuzkoa.ehu.es/p210-shcssct/es/contenidos/informacion/css_espacios/es_espacios/espacios.html The program also has the UNAM, with enough classrooms at both the Institute for Philosophical Research (IIF) and the Faculty of Arts (FfyL) (as a result of the post-graduate studies in Philosophy of Science). The computer classrooms of the FFyL and IIF may also be used. Together with them, there also exist specific areas in both buildings for conducting tutorials and assembly halls for conferences and symposia. The UC3M will accommodate the students from the FCV/FZB doctoral program on the Getafe campus, which has the resources directly related to the educational activities listed below (No.: number of spaces, M2: number of square metres). Some of the spaces mentioned in the previous section can be used as laboratories and workshops, particularly the laboratory and seminar room of the Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science and the seminar room of the Department of Philosophy of Values and Social Anthropology of the UPV/EHU. The Multimedia Classroom of the Faculty of Philosophy and Educational Sciences can also be used for the same purpose, as well as two spaces for the research teams of the FCV/FZB program in the Carlos Santamaría Centre. In all of them it is possible to perform team work, have group discussions, etc. The Carlos Santamaría Centre also has specific spaces for discussion groups of up to 8-10 people on the Library premises. The digital video library and the digital audio library of the General Directorate for the Dissemination of Science at the UNAM can be used.
The Gipuzkoa Campus Library groups together all the libraries previously spread over the campus. It also has bibliographical collections in physical and electronic formats and multimedia classrooms and spaces for the use of the teaching staff and doctoral students: http://www.biblioteka.ehu.es/p207-content/es/contenidos/organo/biblioteca_informacion_estruct/es_estructu/campus_gipuzkoa.html) The Library of the Carlos Santamaría Centre offers the following services: - Acquisition service - Servicio de adquisiciones.bib-gi@ehu.es - Documentation service - Servicio de documentación.bib-gi@ehu.es - Support Service for Teaching and Research - Servicio de Apoyo a la Docencia y la Investigación.bib-gi@ehu.es - Area of Social Sciences and Humanities - Área de ciencias sociales y humanidades ciencias.bib-gi@ehu.es In addition, the Library has a large collection of journals and electronic books which are freely available from identified computer terminals at the UPV/EHU. At the UNAM the teaching staff and students of the FCV/FZB can use the following libraries linked to the centres related to the doctoral program: the Samuel Ramos Library of the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, the Ricardo Monges López Library of the Faculty of Sciences and the Eduardo García Máynez Library of the IIF. At the UC3M, the teaching staff and students of the doctorate have four libraries on the different campuses, which are configured as Resource Centres for Learning and Research and contain different kinds of resources and services, creating a new library concept adapted to the needs of the EHEA. They are modern library centres with a high degree of technology in their work processes and the services provided. We should also mention the wide range of electronic resources provided to their user community, which are perfectly integrated into the Learning Management System. The university libraries provide different services for the doctoral students, which can be viewed at the following address: http://www.uc3m.es/portal/page/portal/biblioteca/sobre_la_biblioteca/servicios/servicio_doctorandos_tesis_matriculada There are two libraries on the Getafe Campus: The María Moliner Library of Social and Juridical Sciences (Getafe). 712 reading places, 6,500 m2, 13 catalogue viewing points, 4 database viewing points and 67 other points. Concepción Arenal Library of Humanities, Communication and Documentation (Getafe). 80 reading points, 606 m2, 7 database viewing points and 15 other points. Wi-Fi* There are Wi-Fi connections in all the buildings. The library system is sufficient to meet the needs of the doctoral research training.
