She obtained the BSc in Chemistry in the University of the Basque Country (1995) and in Strathclyde University (1995). She got the PhD in Chemistry (2000) in the chemical engineering group of the University of the Basque Country in the area of heterogeneous catalysis for VOC removal.
In 2003 she incorporated to POLYMAT Institute and became a lecturer in the Chemistry Faculty. She is actually Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering in the Chemistry Faculty of the University of the Basque Country, where she is teaching Chemical Engineering, Polymer Reaction Engineering and Environmetal Chemistry and Technology.
Her research is focused on complex waterborne dispersed polymers. She is part of the Industrial Liaison Program project led by Prof. Asua, which involves 13 international companies from the waterborne polymers sector. She has supervised 12 PhD thesis and is actually supervising another 4. She has published more than 90 articles (h=25) and she is co-inventor of four patents.
Since 2020, she is the director of the Institute for Polymeric Materials, POLYMAT.
