Prof. A.J. Müller is a Materials Engineer (Simón Bolívar Univ), with an MSc in Chemistry (IVIC, Caracas, Venezuela) and a PhD in Physics (Bristol Univ, UK). He worked as a full professor at the Materials Science Department of Simón Bolívar University in Caracas, Venezuela. Since September 2013, he holds an IKERBASQUE Research Professorship at POLYMAT and at the Polymer Science and Technology Department, Faculty of Chemistry, University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU in San Sebastián. He is an Emeritus Professor from Simón Bolívar University and Editor for POLYMER. He has co-authored more 300 publications (most of them in Q1 journals). He has tutored 90 BSc theses, 55 MSc and 20 PhD theses. He has won several awards in Venezuela, including the Lorenzo Mendoza Fleury, Polar Prize, for basic science. In 2011, he received the international Paul J. Flory Polymer Research Prize. He has given around 80 keynote, plenary and invited lectures in more than 25 countries. He heads the Advanced Multiphasic Polymers Group at POLYMAT. He has achieved by June 2019, an h index of 58 and 10000+ citations. His fields of interests include morphology, nucleation, crystallization and crystallization kinetics of multiphasic polymeric materials (e.g., polymer blends, block copolymers, biopolymers and nano-composites), polymer solution rheology and structured fluids.
