RENATUR theme day. Discussion of the Action Plan in Bizakaia
During this week, the Regional Conference of the RENATUR Interreg project is taking place, held at the Bizkaia Aretoa center of the UPV/EHU, in which members of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development and Environmental Education of the UPV/EHU share and discuss the plan of action developed within the RENATUR Interreg program, with specialists from other 5 European institutions.

RENATUR is a European project whose general objective is the identification, analysis, dissemination and transfer of good practices and political experiences related to the protection of the natural heritage of Peri-Urban Open Spaces (PUOS), which play a vital in the protection of the natural heritage. Six European institutions participate in it (Germany, Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland and the Basque Country) and its objectives are: to protect ecosystems and their services, to conserve biodiversity and reduce its loss, to avoid the fragmentation of ecosystems, to improve connectivity, reduce soil impermeabilization and raise awareness of the concept of Green Infrastructure in land use planning
Within the RENATUR project, different Interregional Thematic Conferences are held through the active participation of relevant agents from each region. These conferences consist of an Exchange of Experiences, through the review by peers of experts of the problems of the study region. The partner regions work together exchanging solutions for the promotion and protection of the natural heritage of peri-urban open spaces (PUOS) in planning practice.
