On April 24, 2023, Mª Estrella Sánchez Corchero, representing the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development and Environmental Education (UPV/EHU), participated in the United Nations General Assembly at its headquarters in New York, on the occasion of the Earth Day celebration. From 2009 to the present, 12 interactive interviews have been carried out. Throughout these 12 interviews, the need for a paradigmatic change from the current anthropocentrism that will allow humanity to live in harmony with Nature has been revealed.
Resolution 77/169, of December 14, 2022, of the General Assembly, established as the objective of this year's interview the order of the Secretary General to hold a summit on April 22, 2024 of next year. It convened the "Earth Assembly" to discuss the effectiveness of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, based on contributions and proposals. the improvement of the student body of universities around the world and, secondly, the assessment of Nature on the progress of interdisciplinary actions.
