BSc in Biological Sciences (UPV/EHU), MSc in Oceanography and PhD in Biological Sciences (University of Southampton, UK). She is senior lecturer at the UPV/EHU, and teaches in the “Erasmus Mundus in Marine Environment and Resources“, “Environmental Pollution and Toxicology” and ""Biodiversity, Functioning and Management of Ecosystems” master degrees and the BSc degree ofBiology (courses of "Ecology" (in English) and Marine ecology" (in Basque). She has been acknowledged 5 five-year teaching terms.



She has been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Southampton and nowadays she is a researcher of the ECOMAR consolidated research group at the UPV/EHU, as well as a member of PIE (Marine Station of Plentzia). Her main research lines are “The i nfluence of pollution and climate change on plankton” and “Impact of invasive zooplankton”. She is member of two ICES (International Council for the Exploration of the Sea) working groups, i.e. “Working Group of Zooplankton Ecology” and WGEUROBUS (coordinator of the latter between 2018-2021).



She has participated in 26 competitive projects, two of them international ones. She is author or co-author of 46 research articles in international journals, 3 book chapters and 1 divulgative publication, having more than 75 contributions to scientific conferences.
