Degree in Law (University of Deusto, 1999) and in Political Science (UPV/EHU, 2002). Since 2010, he is Professor of the Department of Public International Law, International Relations and History of Law of the UPV/EHU, and taught Public International Law and European Union Law, both in Spanish and Basque.

International PhD in International Studies by the UPV/EHU (2016) with the thesis International policies of peacebuilding and disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of combatants in North Kivu and South Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. An analysis based on gender and masculinities approach (2004-2015), by which obtained also the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize (course 2017 / 2018).

He is researcher at Hegoa-Institute for International Cooperation and Development Studies (UPV/EHU), where teaches in the Official Masters' Development and International Cooperation and Globalization and Development" and is member of the feminism and conflict line of research. Besides he is member of the research group on Human Security, Local Human Development and International Cooperation (2016-2021), funded by the Basque Government (IT1037-16).
