Graduate in Economics and PhD in Development Studies from the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU. I teach graduate classes on Sustainable Economy; classes on post-development, degrowth and Buen Vivir (Good Living) in the Master of Globalization and Development of HEGOA (UPV/EHU); and classes on international development cooperation in the Master of Social and Solidarity Economy of GEZKI (UPV/EHU).

I am a researcher attached to HEGOA, Institute of Development Studies and International Cooperation, where I have participated in several projects related to decentralized cooperation, development strategies, social and solidarity economy, ecological economy, and critical development studies. I am member of the research group on Human Security, Human Local Development and International Cooperation (group A Basque University System). I have done research stays in several countries (Oxford University, Open University, UK; FLACSO-Ecuador, FLACSO-Guatemala).

My main lines of research are critical studies of development, the links between social and solidarity economy and ecological economy, and social participation in development cooperation. I have published in these fields in different international journals, books and book chapters.
