Professor of Cell Biology and Histology since 2004. She graduated in Biology from the University of Salamanca (1986) and in Fine Arts from the UPV / EHU (2014). PhD in Biology (1989) from the University of Salamanca. He obtained a second PhD (PhD) from the University of Lund (Sweden) in 1995. Post-doctoral fellow for 5 years at the Universities of Lund (Sweden) California in Davis, and at the NY Medical College. Fellow of Clare Hall College of Cambridge since 2012. Since 1995 Principal Investigator of the Interdisciplinary Research Group of Oftalmo-Experimental Biology (www.ehu.es/GOBE). He has published more than 120 articles in impact journals, 2 patents. He has directed 15 doctoral Theses, of which half are ophthalmologists. He has directed 28 TFG and TFM and has hired 30 researchers. Principal Investigator of more than 40 projects, of which 10 of an international nature and 10 with biotechnology companies. He has given more than 90 conferences, more than half in international centers. Evaluator of European projects in the field of Health, member of the commission of ANECA for the evaluation of University teachers in the field of health and sexenios of Transfer (2019). Evaluator of the ANEP since 1992. Member of the editorial board of the Journal of Translational Medicine TVST and evaluator of 10 Q1 journals. The fundamental research lines of the group are: the study of glaucoma as a neurodegenerative eye diseases and the ocular surface, identifying biomarkers in the tear
