He is a Medical Doctor and PhD, and holds a Master’s degree in information technologies and virtual learning environments. He received postdoctoral training at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) and participated as a research fellow in Ramón y Cajal Programme until he started in 2003 as an Associate Professor of Human Anatomy and Embryology at the School of Medicine and Nursing of the University of the Basque Country. His research interests are (i) neurobiological mechanisms of pain, and (ii) digital resources and 3D visualization for anatomical education.
