I obtained my PhD in Philosophy in 1998 at the UPV/EHU. I had a postdoc at Barcelona University, and had a teaching position at the University of Valladolid until 2009, when I came back to the Basque Country as an Ikerbasque Research Professor. Currently (2019) I am president of the Spanish Society of Analytic Philosophy (SEFA) and member of the Steering Committee of the European Society for Analytic Philosophy (ESAP). I have published extensively about physicalism, semantics and pragmatics, and language and thought. My papers have been published in journals such as Nous, Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, Mind and Language, and the British Journal for the Philosophy of Science. I have co-edited a book called Inner Speech: New Voices at Oxford University Press together with Peter Langland-Hassan (U. of Cincinnati).
