Amaia Iza is an Associate Professor of Economics in the Department of Economic Analysis at the Faculty of Economics, University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. She received her Ph.D. in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, New York (USA). Her main teaching activity consists in teaching undergraduate courses of Macroeconomics, Microeconomics or Growth Theory and postgraduate courses of Economic Growth and Development in the Master in Economics: Empirical Applications and Policies. She has supervised four doctoral dissertations, one of them with Europeus mention and one of them awarded with an outstanding prize. She has participated in many scientific national and international conferences and workshops: Simposio del Análisis Económico, European Economic Association, DEGIT (Dynamics, Economic Growth and International Trade), ASSET (Association of Southern European Theorists), Workshop on Dynamic General Equilibrium Macroeconomics, etc. Her main research interests are economic growth and economic development. She has published several scientific papers in international JCR journals such as Scandinavian Journal of Economics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Population Economics, Journal of Applied Economics, Review of Development Economics or Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.
