Chemical Engineer (environmental engineering profile), Complutense University, Madrid (2003). Doctorate degree in Environmental Engineering (special PhD award), Basque Country University, UPV-EHU (2010). Predoctoral researcher in the Applied Chemistry Department, Basque Country University, UPV-EHU from 2004 to 2006. Nowadays, associate professor and researcher of the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department, Basque Country University, UPV-EHU. My research field is focused in biorefinery processes from an engineer perspective, specialized in the process design, flowsheets simulation and optimization, solvents recovery, energy consumption evaluation, etc. For this purpose, specific chemical engineering processes simulation tools are required, as Aspen Plus, HX Net, etc.
